DotCIO's Information Technologies Infrastructure, in conjunction with Rensselaer's Office of Undergraduate Education, is pleased to report that wireless capacity and technology was upgraded in larger lecture halls across campus this past spring and summer. Locations include the Darrin Communications Center lecture halls, the Academy Hall and West Hall auditoriums, CII 4050, Amos Eaton 214, Sage 3303, Sage 3510, and Ricketts 203.
Specifically, the upgrade included the installation of 802.11ac wave 2 access points, which are optimized for high-density experience and provide multigigabit uplinks to the campus network. These upgrades intend to support tools and concepts which promote participation and engagement with course content, instructors and students.
Both Information Technologies Infrastructure and the Office of Undergraduate Education encourage users to use the Wireless Upgrade Feedback Form to provide feedback regarding these recent upgrades. Thanks in advance for your time and your help!
