Microsoft has recently announced a critical vulnerability with its XP, W7, Server 2003, Server 2008 and Server 2008 R2 operating systems, which can be exploited without user interaction. Although there are no known exploits as of May 15, 2019, the affected systems need to be patched to prevent future malware exploits. Windows Update will automatically install the required patch as part of their recently released Monthly Rollup Package for those systems (W7, Server 2008/2008R2) configured to auto update, or with a manual Windows Update.
