Cybersecurity Awareness Training Assigned in Percipio

Informational

DotCIO, in collaboration with Human Resources, is launching a cyber hygiene training course which covers basic aspects of cybersecurity — including phishing scams, password management, social engineering, and malware prevention — and also includes instructions on how to report IT security incidents at Rensselaer.  Education on these critical topics is shown to reduce the risk of cyber attacks and data breaches, improve response time, and help everyone protect both personal and Rensselaer information.

The training module will be assigned to all community members in Percipio and is an important part of Rensselaer's overall information security program.  Cyber attackers are persistent and have no boundaries, so by educating our community on these critical topics, we can all help reduce the risk of cyber attacks and data breaches, which can have severe consequences such as financial loss, legal liability, and damage to one's personal reputation.   Information security is a shared responsibility, and all members of the campus community must be vigilant and follow best practices regarding cybersecurity.
