Kipu Quantum Iskay Optimizer — Onboarding Workshop for RPI Students and Researchers

Informational

RPI Quantum Research Community,

RPI is in the process of onboarding Kipu Quantum Iskay Optimizer. The solver will be available via the IBM Quantum Qiskit Catalogue in the near future.

To help you you with Iskay Optimizer you are invited to a concise, high-impact onboarding workshop to be held:

Wednesday, February 18th at 9:30 AM in CII 3206

If your work involves optimization, scheduling, routing, portfolio design, materials discovery, or related areas, this session is for you.

 What to expect:

  • Introduction to Kipu: a brief overview of who they are and what they offer
  • Iskay overview: how to run real optimization workflows on quantum hardware via IBM Quantum
  • Hands-on workflow: a guided example---from problem framing to a runnable notebook in minutes, featuring research conducted at RPI’s Center for Infrastructure, Transportation, and the Environment
  • Debugging and Q&A: practical tips, best practices, and common pitfalls
  • Kipu Quantum Hub: ongoing access to documentation, examples, and support channels
  • Preview: a look at our newly launched AI capabilities and preliminary results on IBM’s Nighthawk chip

We welcome you to share your optimization problem in advance (1–2 sentences, plus any constraints and data pointers). We’ll forward these to Kipu, so they can select a few to feature live so the material speaks directly to your use cases.

Send problem descriptions to qed-team@rpi.edu
