Hello RPI Community!
During the month of October, Information Security is taking part in Cyber Security Awareness Month!
Cyber Security Awareness Month is a global initiative led by the Cyber and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA), National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST), and private Universities to bring awareness of online safety, best practices, and digital risk reduction.
Please see below weekly events that are open to all Students, Faculty, and Staff!
Week One
- Welcome event meet and greet with RPI's Information Security team
- Refreshments, Giveaways, Vinyl Stickers, and a presentation of Cyber Security in the Age of AI: Risks, Realities, and Responses
- Alumni Panel - Cyber Crossfire
- In collaboration with Reunion & Homecoming weekend, we invite the RPI Community to attend a moderated discussion of a group of distinguished RPI Alumni speaking about some of today's most interesting Security questions.
- To submit a topic to be discussed by the Alumni panel, please fill out the question field of the Microsoft Booking.
Week Two
- The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) will be on Campus presenting on updates on the Cyberthreat landscape, and opportunities for private sector collaboration
Week Three - Info-Sec Escape and Game Rooms!
- Information Security themed "Escape Room" - Attendees will observe through a simulated classroom setting malicious tactics (ex. Phishing), and can only "Escape" by reporting the tactic to a member of RPI's Information Security team!
- Join our Information Security team in playing a table-top game to detect, defend, and remediate a Security breach!
Week Four
- Division of Finance Conference
- Presentation by our Director of Information Security on "Cyber Security is no longer just an IT Issue!"
