Multimedia Services is pleased to announce that automated captioning is now provided for all video that is uploaded or recorded to Mediasite. Captioning will be provided by the AI captioning service Vidable; this will ensure that Rensselaer is in compliance with requirements stating that all offered video must be captioned for those who are deaf or hard of hearing. Box Overview and Registering for an RPI Box Account

Multimedia Services (MMS) would like to remind the Rensselaer community that Webex Events (classic) is being replaced with Webex Webinars on Saturday, April 1, 2023. Accessing Webex Events will display a banner with this reminder, and no new Events can be scheduled to take place after April 1. As a result, MMS highly recommends that all campus community members begin utilizing Webex Webinars as a preferred method now.
 

In a continuing effort to improve Rensselaer's cyber security posture, the DotCIO is initiating a vulnerability management program.   A vulnerability is any weakness in a system or process that leaves information security exposed to a threat.  This program aims to reduce risk to the Institute by identifying vulnerabilities and ensuring remediation, aiming to reduce the negative impact on the availability, integrity and confidentiality of Rensselaer data and IT infrastructure.

Multimedia Services would like to inform the Rensselaer community of several important changes coming to the Webex platform in the near future, including changes to Windows OS support, the new Webex Scheduler, Webex Webinars, and the Webex recording retention policy.
