We can assist with computation needs that require more than a normal desktop or laptop but do not fit into traditional HPC definitions; some examples include applications that may require powerful CPU and 32-64 GB of RAM.  In many cases, these applications are run interactively, and tend to be work loads that cannot use MPI or other scale-out technology, or which don’t work well under a scheduler.
